Nature
The River Mars rises in the glacial cirque of Le Falgoux. On the slopes of the Mars Valley, beech and fir forests are home to a very rich flora and fauna.
The Biaguin is a triple waterfall in the forest of Le Falgoux. The Biaguin mini-canyon consists of four waterfalls and is located in the municipality of Le Falgoux. The upper Biaguin waterfall is easily accessible from the D12 between Le Falgoux and Pont des Eaux and is secured by a railing.
Hiking
The Sentier du Roc du Merle is 9.8 km long and is stated to take 4 hours; it begins at the church square in Le Falgoux. From the Sentier du Roc du Merle, the summit of Roc du Merle can be reached at an altitude of 1,344 m.
The hiking trail to the Cascade du Biaguin is 4 km long, takes around 2 hours and begins at the hamlet of La Chaze. La Baladie begins in Tahoul and, after around 2 km, leads to a ridge with panoramic views over the Mars Valley.
The trail through the Mars Valley begins at the Maison de Site du Falgoux.
Culture
The Church of Saint-Germain in the centre of Le Falgoux was built in 1904. It houses remarkable carved wooden furnishings, including choir stalls, a pulpit and a baptismal font.
The war memorial of Le Falgoux, with its paved area, was listed as a historic monument by decree of 13 March 2019. It was inaugurated on 16 September 1923. Two plaques on the war memorial of Le Falgoux bear the names of the municipality’s war dead.
Activities
The CÅ“ur de Volcan e-bike route leads from the Col d'Aulac down a steep descent to Le Falgoux and then along the D12 towards the Pas de Peyrol.
When snow conditions are suitable, the Le Falgoux resort offers cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and sledging.
