The chapel of the Couvent de la Thébaïde contains ten regionalist stained-glass windows created in 1894 by the glass painter Jules Boulanger from Rouen.

The Couvent de la Thébaïde also includes La Vrillette, a structure made of steam-bent wood whose design was inspired by Renaissance garden arbors. The 12th-century keep serves as the bell tower of the neo-Gothic Church of Saint-Julien; parking is available at the church.

The Le rocher de Chabane hiking trail is an easy, marked, five-kilometre circular route starting from Arches. It leads to a viewpoint overlooking the Dordogne Valley. A variant of the trail descends to the Dordogne near Lanau and extends the walking time by 1 hour and 15 minutes.
The Couvent de la Thébaïde is situated in a large forest above the Dordogne gorges; a 500-metre footpath leads to the site.
Festivals
The municipality of Arches has maintained a partnership with the Millesources Festival for more than 20 years, during which concerts have been held in the church. The traditional Saint-Julien festival takes place every year and includes, among other things, a méchoui, fireworks and musical events; visitors also take part.

The Rencontres gourmandes features a market of regional producers with tastings on site or to take away, including cured meats, cheese, pounti, sausages and bourriols. A guided tour of the Tour d’Arches is also offered.
History
The Pont suspendu de Saint-Projet was opened to traffic in 1945 after the reservoir of the Barrage de l’Aigle was flooded. The suspension bridge connects the départements of Cantal and Corrèze and is open every day all year round.
