Saint-Julien-de-Toursac: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Saint-Julien-de-Toursac is a hilly village in the southwest of the Châtaigneraie Cantalienne, between the Anès and Rimal streams.

Water and Fishing

The Plan d'eau de Naucaze is a three-hectare pond and a first-category fishing water for coarse fish. Fishing is permitted there all year round, but a fishing licence is required. The Plan d'eau de Naucaze is open every day throughout the year.

Culture and Local History

The Château de Naucaze is currently being restored. Its 12th-century tower is the oldest architectural element still preserved. The Château de Naucaze is usually closed to the public; however, in summer and during the Journées du patrimoine, it can be visited as part of free guided tours, provided that a reservation has first been made with the Office de tourisme de la Châtaigneraie Cantalienne.

The town hall, Saint-Julien Church, the cemetery and the school were relocated and rebuilt by the residents at the lieu-dit Les Estresses at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. The local architecture has a southern influence, including tiled roofs. Typical houses have external staircases made of dressed stone.

Cycling and Art

The Côte des Estresses is a winding climb for cyclists and reaches an elevation of 495 metres at its summit.

Les Estress’arts showcases paintings and sculptures by established artists, as well as contributions from residents and children of the municipality. The event takes place annually in the main village of Saint-Julien and had already been held every year for four years. It takes place on the last weekend of September.
