Freix-Anglards is characterized by old architecture and restored houses. From the northern edge of the village, there is an impressive view of the Monts du Cantal.
Culture and History
The local history includes the historic Croix de Sarrus in Freix-Anglards. It dates from 1642 and is made of basalt. On October 6, 2018, a new Croix de Sarrus was installed in Sarrus, a work by sculptor Robert Salat in collaboration with Jean-Claude Carlat. The Croix de Sarrus is located where the villages of Sarrus, Bassignac and Vernuéjouls meet. The Four à Pain de Beynaguet is also part of Freix-Anglards' local heritage.
Village Scenery
Bassignac is a roadside village overlooking the surrounding area. The village has beautiful barns, chicken coops and wells. The village scenery features a mix of flat and pitched roofs, including pyramid-shaped roofs.
Nature and Trails
The PR La Croix Haute hiking trail in Freix-Anglards is 7 km long. Its route includes crossing a stream at a ford; the trail can only be used during dry periods.
Orientation
The Bordes picnic area is a municipal picnic facility established by the municipality of Freix-Anglards. It is open daily all year round.
