The PR Besse walking route is 7 km long and takes approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. It starts in the square by the church and then leads back to Besse. The route is considered easy and includes several rocky sections.

The municipality of Besse consists of two distinct parts. In the upper part of the village, there are views of the Monts du Cantal and across the Bertrande valley. Walkers can also see the Croix du Ciel in the upper part of the village.

Villagescape

On Besse’s village square, opposite the church, stands the lime tree known as the Tilleul de Sully. The centre features bourgeois houses dating from the 19th century.

Culture

The Notre-Dame de la Visitation church in Besse is a small Romanesque church with a bell gable featuring two bell openings. RM Tourisme offers guided tours in Besse.

Surroundings

The 90-kilometre driving and motorcycling circuit “Entre Doire et Bertrande” follows the D342 towards Besse; from the plateau, there is a viewpoint overlooking the Monts du Cantal.
