Vieure: Holiday Apartments and Houses

The Plan d’eau de Vieure covers 65 hectares, of which 33 hectares comprise the pond. Canoes, pedal boats and stand-up paddleboards are available for hire on the water.

Nature

There are signposted hiking trails around the Plan d’eau de Vieure and in the Bocage Bourbonnais. The Forêt domaniale de Dreuille on the Circuit des vénérables is characterised by stately oak trees, old beech trees and mature hornbeams.

Culture

The Château de la Salle is protected in its entirety as a historic monument. The protection also covers the park, the outbuildings and the furnished interiors; the listing was made by decree on 18 November 2002.

The Château de la Salle preserves medieval building fabric from the 14th century and was extended around 1875. Among other additions, this created a square tower in the Neo-Gothic and Neo-Louis XIII styles.

The park of the Château de La Chaussière is designed as an English landscape garden. It includes centuries-old trees and a beautiful view.

Activities

The Circuit des vénérables – PR 22 is a very easy, 11 km-long hiking trail with a stated duration of 2 hours and 15 minutes. It starts at 18 Place de l’église in Vieure.

There are wooden sculptures in the hamlet of Les Muriats along the circular route.

The outdoor escape game “L’Autre Monde” at the Plan d’eau de Vieure is designed as a cooperative treasure hunt with a backpack, a travel journal and various interactive props.

Events

The Hadra Trance Festival is scheduled to take place annually at the Plan d’eau de Vieure. Announced are 10,000 festival guests, four days of uninterrupted music and celebrations, three stages and more than 150 artists.
