Saligny-sur-Roudon: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The main construction phases of the Château de Saligny date from the 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th centuries through to the third quarter of the 19th century.

Culture

The Église Saint-Martin was rebuilt by Abbé Pougnet between 1876 and 1878 after its destruction. The church developed around a Cluniac priory that disappeared in the 15th century.

Nature

The Roudon flows through Saligny-sur-Roudon. Locally, it is described as a red river because it carries iron-bearing sandstone from its upper reaches.

The upstream boundary of the fishing section on the Roudon is located at the stadium bridge in Saligny-sur-Roudon. Float fishing, bottom fishing and lure spinning are cited as suitable techniques for fishing on the Roudon. The Roudon is classified as a second-category waterway.

Trails

La légende de Robert le Diable is a hiking trail in Saligny-sur-Roudon. It starts at the church and, on the return route, leads via the road to Pierrefitte-sur-Loire, to the Château and then back to the church.

The grounds of the Château de Saligny can be freely viewed along a landscaped path beside the moats and through the park.
