Fréchou: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
The gardens of the Château du Fréchou combine a garden laid out around thirty years ago in the spirit of the Italian Renaissance with a small, medieval-style enclosed garden. Terraced areas offer panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.

Culture and History
In the 13th century, Fréchou was a castrum that grew up around its castle and church. The history of the village is also linked to the assassination of the Duke of Guise in 1588: François de Montpezat, Lord of Fréchou and commander of the Quarante-cinq, acted on behalf of Henri III.
The Château du Fréchou stands in a fortified courtyard. Its entrance portal is framed by flat pillars and crowned by a coat of arms and a tracery window. The Church of Saint Christopher was built in the 14th century and subsequently remodelled several times; its nave with the 14th-century portal is the oldest part of the church.
In the wider region around Fréchou are the Ancien couvent des Dominicains de Prouilhan, Flaran Abbey, Saint Caprais Cathedral and the departmental archives of Lot-et-Garonne.
Landscape
Fréchou is located in the Pays d'Albret between the Baïse Valley and the Osse Valley. The Pont-barrage du Fréchou crosses the Osse; its massive walls are pierced by three tall arches.
The name Fréchou is derived from the Latin name for the ash tree. Ash trees grow in the Osse Valley and in the hollows around the village.
Local Life
The Marchés de Producteurs de Pays du Fréchou are an open-air farmers' market featuring musical entertainment. The Fêtes du Fréchou include the world championship in melon seed spitting.
