Inside Notre-Dame Church, painted ornaments decorate the capitals, keystones and arcades. The painted interior decoration of the church was created by Henry Lefai in 1957.

A second design by the architect Alban Delsol was drawn up in 1878 for the reconstruction of Notre-Dame Church in Dausse. Ente plums grow on the slopes in orchards intended for the production of Agen prunes.

History

The parish of Puycalvary was united with the parish of Dausse in 1754. The seigneurial chapel of Puycalvary was consecrated on 17 April 1536. The chapel of Puycalvary had been abandoned and overgrown with vegetation.

The castle complex of Puycalvary is called “cassel” in French and was first mentioned in 1288. Archaeological remains were discovered in Paganel that are considered similar to the remains of Lamouroux.

Landscape and Trails

The Château de Puycalvary sits atop a steep slope and dominates the Boudouyssou Valley to the south.

The hiking section of the GR 652 from Dausse to Penne-d'Agenais is 9 kilometres long. Beside the trail of the hike from Dausse to Puycalvary via Pechagudel stands a holm oak whose trunk circumference is more than 4 metres and whose age is estimated at approximately 200 to 250 years.
