History and Culture
The Church of Saint-Hippolyte was built in the 14th century using Languedoc bricks. A fresco dating from 1529 depicts the life and martyrdom of Saint Catherine of Alexandria. The church is open to the public.
The Arènes Camille Couralet were built in 1911 in a refined Moorish style inspired by Andalusia. They host Course Landaise events. On market days, a guided tour takes place there on Wednesday mornings at 10 a.m.
L’Alambic des Arts is a former cinema that was converted in 2013 into a venue for the creation and performance of live shows.
Paths and Routes
The Voie Verte du Marsan et de l’Armagnac runs from Mont-de-Marsan to Villeneuve-de-Marsan along a 16 km route. The Scandibérique also passes through Villeneuve-de-Marsan; the town has a service station along the route.
The signposted Circuit des lavoirs is a short urban walking route in Villeneuve-de-Marsan. The Route des Etangs is a route through the ponds scattered throughout the Villeneuvois area.
