The Église Saint-Vincent is a fortified Romanesque church dating from the 12th century, with a long, panelled nave and a choir beneath a dome. Those choosing Saint-Vincent-Sur-L'isle as a travel destination may wish to rent a holiday apartment there.
Culture
Above the choir of the Église Saint-Vincent is a defensive chamber. It is reached via a staircase that begins at a height of five metres and has four changes of direction; the bell tower is crenellated. The church also has very good acoustics: the sound waves, partially absorbed by the dome’s vaulting, are amplified while retaining their essential purity.
The village bridge is also part of the village’s history. It was built in 1843, renovated in 2018 and remains the direct access route to the village. Originally, the bridge was made of wood. It was built so that the blacksmith could cross the river safely instead of using the ford.
A plane tree planted in 1908 stands in the village square and is classified as a remarkable tree. The former forge is now a pleasant restaurant on the riverbank.
At Terre Douce in Les Triadoux, Saint-Vincent-sur-l'Isle, a pottery activity is offered on site. Visitors can make functional pieces and decorative objects from stoneware themselves, using a potter’s wheel or other techniques. Workshop visits are possible on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 14:00 to 18:30, or by appointment.
Paths and Nature
The Boucle de Garabaud is an easy, 7 km circular walk starting in Saint-Vincent-sur-l'Isle. It begins at the town hall square, heads towards Départemental Road No. 705 and continues 200 m further, before the bridge, along the river on an unpaved path branching off to the right. The Boucle de Garabaud is designated as a nature trail focusing on fauna and flora.
The Causse de l’Isle noir No. 5 mountain-bike loop passes through Saint-Vincent-sur-l’Isle.
