Audrix: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
The Gouffre de Proumeyssac is located within the municipality of Audrix. The cave is known as the “Crystal Cathedral” and is the largest developed cave in the Périgord.

Nature
At the Gouffre de Proumeyssac, visitors can descend in a gondola with a 360-degree rotation for a maximum of 11 people. A one-hour guided tour leads through a cave covered in crystal formations, with modern lighting and music. In addition, a gently sloping tunnel leads to a viewing balcony for wheelchair users; audio guides, as well as booklets with Braille and raised drawings, support the visit.
Audrix is home to a Natura 2000 zone protecting fauna and flora in a limestone area. The protected ocellated lizard and the protected Aesculapian snake may occur in the area around Audrix.
Trails
The Boucle de la Mélonie is a 5.8 km-long, easy, signposted trail for hiking, horse riding and mountain biking; walking time is approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes. It includes a viewpoint towards Le Bugue; it also leaves the road and leads towards Gravard along a forest track.
The Boucle des Combes starts at the municipal swimming pool car park, passes the church and then reaches the Route de Proumeyssac. The Boucle du Bourg d’Audrix leads to the Romanesque church of Audrix, which dates from the 12th century and was altered in the 14th century.
Culture
The Église Saint-Pierre was fortified during the Hundred Years’ War and has a polygonal defensive tower from the 14th century with loopholes. Ludodrix displays a collection of games, toys and children’s books from 1830 to the beginning of the 21st century.
Ludodrix offers themed activities and exhibitions. Morescarole offers workshops on medieval dances, conferences, medieval balls, dance events and performances.
Local life
At the “tablées gourmandes” held in Audrix on Saturdays in July and August, visitors can discover and sample local products. The Piscine municipale d’Audrix is an outdoor swimming pool open during the summer season, with a large swimming pool, a smaller children’s pool and a landscaped sunbathing lawn.
