Saint-Sulpice-d'Excideuil: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Culture and history

In front of the Église Saint-Césaire stands a bell tower porch. The Église Saint-Césaire was listed as a historic monument by decree of 15 January 1974. Its single-nave nave dates from the 12th century and leads into a flat-ended choir. In the 17th century, two side chapels and another chapel in the south wall were added.

In the Église Saint-Césaire, painted vine and leaf decoration has been preserved on the underside of the funerary band; it probably dates from the 17th century. Around 360, Sulpice Severus was associated with Saint-Sulpice-d'Excideuil as a historiographer and founder of the local monastery. The 19th-century cemetery chapel in Saint-Sulpice-d'Excideuil can be entered through the north portal; old graves are located there.
