Church and Local History
The Church of Notre-Dame-de-la-Nativité in Lolme is a Romanesque church from the 12th century with two nave bays, a choir bay and a semicircular apse vaulted with a half-dome. The outer surfaces of the three walls feature wall inscriptions, engraved marks and decorative motifs, including crosses, rosettes and nine outlines of shoes.
The apse has a stone-slab roof resting on a cornice with corbels. Some of the corbels are sculpted, while the metopes have circular openings. The stones of the Romanesque church very probably came from the same quarry that contributed to the development of the village.
The place name Le Peyroulier derives from the Occitan Lo Pairolièr. The name means “repairer or seller of cauldrons”.

The Abbey of Cadouin, a monastery, is located near Lolme. In the wider regional area are the Château de Bonaguil, a castle, the Château des Milandes, a castle, and the Château de Castelnaud-la-Chapelle, also a castle.
