Pomport: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Tertre de Montcuq is located at the summit of a 137-metre-high hill. A rampart walk, a well and a stele marking the beginning of the Hundred Years’ War are still preserved there today.

Culture and History

The Château de Sanxet encompasses a historic monument, a Gothic chapel, a private automobile museum, a very old winery and an underground cellar. By prior arrangement, the Château de Sanxet can be visited free of charge in French and English. The Chapelle Saint-Mayme dates from the late 11th century and has a semicircular, vaulted apse and a bell gable. The Domaine de Montlong has been inhabited by the Lambert family since the 13th century.

Trails and Landscape

The GR 6 and the Way of St James pass through Pomport. The Boucle de Pomport follows lightly trafficked roads and paths through the vineyards of the Monbazillac appellation, passing the Église Saint-Pierre and the Chapelle Saint-Mayme along the way.

Wine

From May onwards, the Château Ladesvignes offers an audio-guided tour of the wine cellars and their surroundings in French and English. The Château Ladesvignes also offers panoramic views of Bergerac and the Dordogne Valley. A selection of red, rosé, dry white, noble sweet and sweet wines is available there for discovery and tasting.

The Château Larchère has been organically farmed since 1989 and is affiliated with the Nature et Progrès certification. The Château Larchère offers free individual wine tastings as well as guided tours by prior arrangement. The Château Les Gérales offers a free wine tasting with food pairings, as well as guided or self-guided tours. The Château Les Gérales also offers picnics with a gourmet hamper by order.
