History

La Prévôté is a 17th-century charterhouse that served as the residence of the Prévôts of Issigeac. The Palais des Évêques, Issigeac Castle, was formerly the residence of the bishops of Sarlat. Its vaulted cellar houses the tourist information office and exhibition rooms.

Culture

The Maison des Têtes is a late-15th-century house with a half-timbered upper storey and grotesque heads beneath the windows. The Maison Champignon stands like an island and has widely projecting sections beneath which carts could pass.
