Chapdeuil: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Culture and History

The protected elements of the Château de Chapdeuil include the moats fed by the Euche, the bridge, the châtelet and the dovecote. The main tower retains a Gothic fireplace; its uppermost floor is fitted with machicolations on triple corbels.

The former Saint-Astier church became the parish church in 1763. The Saint-Astier parish church was built in 1877 on the site of an earlier church.

The fortified manor house in Chapdeuil dates from the 16th century and was built to protect the castle. Further construction work was carried out on the fortified manor house in the 19th and 20th centuries.

The Puits et lavoir de Chapdeuil comprises a square well made of dressed stone blocks next to a wash basin with sloping washboards for scrubbing laundry.

Nature and Trails

The Boucle de Chapdeuil is an 8.0-kilometre circular trail starting in Chapdeuil. It follows the Euche through the village and combines natural and cultural experiences.

Les Randos des Nounous – La balade du château is a very easy 30-minute walk and a 1.1-kilometre circular trail. It passes through a medieval setting near the Château de Chapdeuil and the traditional village centre.
