The Église Saint-Pierre-aux-Liens is a fortified church built at the end of the 12th or beginning of the 13th century. Its Romanesque vault has domes on pendentives, while the modern bell tower porch is designed in the Byzantine style. Since 9 June 1926, the Église Saint-Pierre-aux-Liens has been listed as a historic monument.

Culture and history

The Église Saint-Pierre-aux-Liens can be visited during the town hall’s opening hours and on Heritage Days. In the centre of the village stands the Manoir du Lau, a manor house dating from the 16th century. It was extensively altered in the 19th century, is currently being renovated and cannot be visited.

The Château de la Rigaudie was built in the first quarter of the 19th century and is listed in the General Inventory of Cultural Heritage. The Château du Meynard is a noble residence in Allemans with an original residential tower inspired by medieval architecture. The château was built in the 18th century, and the residential tower was added in the 19th century.

La Montagne Sud in Allemans is a venue for projects on various themes, including artistic creativity. It offers spaces for artists’ residencies for short, medium-length or longer stays.

Circular trails and landscape

The “Boucle d’Allemans” trail passes through a former Templar parish. The surviving features include a fortified Romanesque church and a Templar cross in an old house. The circular route runs through the Dronne valley and combines historical and natural highlights. This easy 8.6 km circular route starts in Allemans and can be used on foot or by mountain bike.

River and surroundings

Two municipal paths lead to the river: one is below the Papali weir, while the other leads to the Meynard weir. The municipality describes both sites as remarkable environmental areas.

Fishing is considered a special leisure activity in Allemans’s local rivers. These include the Dronne, the Lizonne, the Sauvanie and the Boulon.
