Culture and History
The Château de Lanquais combines a fortified medieval section with a Renaissance palace. The building incorporates elements from the 15th, 16th, 18th and 19th centuries.
The Château de Lanquais and the avenue of elm trees leading to it were classified as a historic monument by decree of 8 July 1942. The west wing, outbuildings, surrounding wall, courtyard and associated grounds were additionally listed as historic monuments by decree of 14 September 2010, with the exception of the parts that had already been classified.
The central part of the church in Lanquais dates from the 13th century; the two side chapels were added in the 19th century.

Nature
At Lac de Lanquais, there are shady paths for walks around the lake. Fishing is possible there for people of all experience levels.
The Couzeau runs through Lanquais and feeds Lac de Lanquais; trout are fished along its banks.
Trails
The Boucle des Coteaux starts in Lanquais and is an 11.0 km circular route for hiking and mountain biking. It passes through meadows and forests, by the Tuilerie des Roques and, after a viewpoint in the forest, towards the Château de Lanquais. The Tuilerie des Roques is a former brick kiln that operated until the middle of the 19th century.
The Boucle des Eaux starts in Lanquais and is an easy 6.8 km circular route for hiking and mountain biking.
The Chemin d’Avitus passes through Lanquais; from it, the large 15th-century tithe barn of Lanquais can be seen.
The village discovery route in Lanquais passes the former presbytery of La Bazinie, the former prison, also known as the Prévôté, the church, the market hall and the former monastery.
