Culture

Uhřice Castle was first mentioned in the 14th century as an estate and probably as a fortress. The final and most significant alterations were carried out in 1764 under its owner, Michal Chorynský. In the entrance hall, the Sala terrena, there is a ceiling painting executed using the secco technique, depicting four winds blowing the breath of life towards the centre. The chapel at Uhřice Castle was consecrated in 1773 as the Chapel of the Finding of the Holy Cross. The village cemetery in Uhřice also features culturally remarkable architectural elements. Various cultural events take place in Uhřice every year and attract strong participation from visitors from the surrounding area.

Cycling

The Morkovice–Nezamyslice cycle path runs through Uhřice u Kroměříže. It is 11.6 kilometres long and was built along the former local railway line No. 302, which was closed in 2005. The former railway forms the historical basis of the cycle path route that runs through Uhřice today. Thus, in addition to the castle, one of the locally identified features is the route of a former transport line.
