Malá Bystřice: Holiday apartment amid Wallachian countryside and Santov

Malá Bystřice features a Wallachian landscape where forests, mountain pastures, homes and holiday settlements form a cohesive whole. The Bystřička stream flows through the valley of Malá Bystřice; it gave the municipality its name. The hills and peaks around the village offer views of the surrounding countryside. The 620 m-high Santov mountain is of significance to tourism and is celebrated in the Wallachian folk song “Na Santově kopec, roste tam jalovec.”

Landscape

One of the characteristic natural features is the protected Svantovítova skála, a sandstone outcrop up to 12 m high. The rock formation consists of three named parts: Ploutev, Svatka and Svatoušek. Together, the rocks bear the name Svantovítovy skály and are located in Malá Bystřice along the Klenov educational trail route. This combines geological form, Wallachian landscape and a named route within the trail network at this location, without the individual features merging into one another.

Trails and viewpoints

The Baťa educational trail is approximately 20 km long and has 18 stations presenting natural features of this part of the Vsacko region.
