Dolni Becva: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Dolní Bečva lies in the Moravian-Silesian Beskids below Mount Radhošť. The northern boundary of the cadastral area, which also forms the district boundary, runs along the ridge of the Radhošť Beskids.

Nature and Activities

Dolní Bečva is a starting point for hiking trails to Radhošť. Attractions visited by tourists on Radhošť include a statue of the pagan god Radegast and a chapel dedicated to Saints Cyril and Methodius. Pustevny is also part of this landscape and culturally distinctive setting. The area is known for the picturesque wooden buildings designed by the architect Dušan Jurkovič. In winter, groomed cross-country ski trails run from the Mír chalet via Pustevny to Martinák.

The area can also be explored by bicycle on a designated route: Cycle Route No. 6260 Bečva runs through the Rožnov Valley and through Dolní Bečva. For connections towards the mountainous area, bus route 762 operates from Rožnov pod Radhoštěm via Dolní Bečva towards Pustevny; the associated timetable is valid from December 14, 2025, to December 12, 2026.

Sports and Winter

Valašský golfový klub operates a public nine-hole golf course that is also accessible to golfers without a handicap certificate. The Valašský golfový klub complex lies in the cadastral area of the municipality of Dolní Bečva. The grounds also include two tennis courts. An additional beach sports centre is located in the sports complex by the Bečva in Dolní Bečva.

For winter sports, the Pod Kaplí ski slope is available on the northwestern side of Mount Radhošť in the Průsek area. It is 447 metres long. The Pod Kaplí ski lift has a capacity of 450 people per hour, although its operation depends on snow conditions.

Culture and Townscape

Dolní Bečva has buildings featuring traditional folk architecture. A wooden bell tower is among the locally significant buildings of architectural interest. In the Horní Rozpité valley, there is also a brick chapel with a bell, built in 1848. Another sacred building is the parish church of Saint Anthony of Padua in Dolní Bečva, which was built and consecrated in 1907.

Regional Specialities

The local character also includes specific culinary offerings. VKP operates a factory outlet in Dolní Bečva offering sausages directly from the producer, traditional slaughterhouse specialities, and fresh pork, beef and chicken. At the VALAŠSKÉ DOBROTY stalls in Dolní Bečva, visitors can try regional Wallachian specialities such as sheep cheese, Korbáčiky and Frgál.

A neighbourhood sauerkraut tasting made from homemade sauerkraut is held repeatedly in Dolní Bečva. The fourth edition took place on January 24, 2026; another edition was announced for January 2027. Thus, alongside the mountain and winter sports offerings, regional products and a local tradition also form part of the town's public events.
