Březolupy combines a varied castle history with several circular trails, Hluboček Pond and distinctive local sites. The original fortress of Březolupy was converted into a Renaissance château in the 16th century; Březolupy Château was converted from a fortress between 1650 and 1668.

Culture and local traditions

The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, which is well worth seeing, stands in Březolupy village square. The townscape also includes the stone statue of Saint John of Nepomuk dating from 1727. The speedway track has its own tradition: since 1963, it has hosted championships, qualifying and junior races, league competitions and open races. The traditional “Slovácké Hody s právem” festivities were scheduled to take place in Březolupy on 18 October 2025. The events calendar also includes a Christmas market with a communal home slaughter and a tasting of plum brandy.

Trails and activities

The blue “Okolo Březolup” circular trail starts and ends at the château, passes Hluboček Pond and several named gazebos, and is 13.9 km long in total. The KAMÉNKA hiking loop is 5.7 km long with an elevation gain of 86 m, while the CHRÁSTKA hiking loop is 6.2 km long with an elevation gain of 96 m. The outer LAPAČ circular trail covers 11.2 km and has an elevation gain of 208 m.

A cycling route also passes through the town: cycling route No. 5055, classified as moderately difficult and 28 km long, runs between Topolná and Zlín via Březolupy. A freely accessible disc golf course is located in the park behind the health centre. The course has four tee areas and four baskets and allows games of up to twelve holes.

Nature at Hluboček

Hluboček Pond offers opportunities for swimming and relaxing on the shore and is officially part of a fishing area managed by the Moravian Anglers’ Association. Lom Chrástka quarry lies immediately beside the pond and is designated as an important landscape feature with notable flora and fauna.

The educational trail at Hluboček Pond includes two wooden footbridges and a water pavilion with an access footbridge. From there, visitors can continue observing and exploring the fauna and flora farther from the shore, on, above and below the water’s surface. The second round of the Czech Individual Junior Championship was scheduled to take place at the Březolupy Speedway Stadium from 3:00 p.m. on Friday, 1 May 2026.
