Culture

Centrum Veronica offers educational and information programs on sustainable regional development and ways to put it into practice. It was built in 2006 as the first public building in the Czech Republic to meet the passive standard.

The “Po zelené Hostětínem” educational trail is approximately 1.5 km long and is suitable for pedestrians and cyclists. The “Naokolo Hostětína” educational trail offers a different perspective on the surrounding area: from the heights, it provides beautiful views. In good visibility, the pilgrimage sites of Velehrad and Hostýn can be seen above Pitín.

Taste and provenance

Since 2000, the local cider mill has produced organic apple ciders and organic herbal syrups from Hostětín. More than four-fifths of the production carries the “BIO – Product of Organic Farming” certification. The apples are primarily supplied by farmers from the White Carpathians who farm organically.

Event

The Jablečná slavnost is a recurring event. It takes place every September in Hostětín at the foot of the White Carpathians and includes cultural activities and environmental education alongside other festival components.
