Holiday apartment in Záhorovice: Culture, springs and trails

At the northeastern edge of Záhorovice lies a plague cemetery with approximately 65 graves of epidemic victims and a preserved sandstone cross dating from 1831. The plague cemetery, including the crucifix, was declared a cultural monument in 1994. This means that a historic site stands at the edge of the village, with visible elements dating back to the 19th century.

Routes and connections

A road completed in 1837 between Uherský Brod and Bojkovice runs through Záhorovice. In addition, a railway stop on the Vlárská dráha line from Brno to Trenčianská Teplá was established in Záhorovice. The line entered service on 4 October 1888.

Specific routes are also designated for cycling and hiking: A marked cycle route runs through Záhorovice. Southeast of the village, a green-marked hiking trail leads through the forest to Modrá voda. Studánka Kamínka, a spring reconstructed in 1998, lies along the way to Modrá voda.

Landscape and water

Modrá voda is a flooded quarry that formed after the closure of the local quarries. Tourists from the nearby area and farther afield visit the site. Camping is possible at Modrá voda. The green-marked hiking trail runs southeast from Záhorovice through the forest to this destination, while the marked cycle route runs through Záhorovice.

Another special feature is the source of Záhorovická Kyselka. Its flow rate is 9 litres per minute. The spring is used by local residents and people from the wider surrounding area. The water of the Záhorovická Kyselka spring is considered to be of high quality and safe.
