Břestek begins with a natural landmark: the Břestecká skála Nature Monument protects a significant geomorphological formation with relict populations of Scots pine and the original Carpathian oak-hornbeam forest.

Nature

Rare species can be found in the protected area of Břestecká skála, including the stag beetle, the white helleborine and the cornelian cherry. The nature monument is located approximately 1.5 km northwest of Břestek. Chabaně is also part of Břestek as a local district. In Chabaně, a district of Břestek, stands the giant sequoia “Sekvojovec obrovský”.

Cycling

Several designated cycling connections run through Břestek. Regional cycle route 5050 follows a 26 km-long route through Břestek. Cycle route 5150, the “Velkomoravská poutní cesta”, also passes through the village; it is considered suitable for all cyclists. Cycle route 5159 leads from Buchlovice through Břestek to Břestecká skála.

Things to do

The Břestecká skála climbing sector consists predominantly of bouldering-style routes. The long-distance “Cyrilometodějská stezka” hiking trail also runs through Chabaně, a district of Břestek. The “Cyrilometodějská stezka” was added to the Council of Europe’s Cultural Routes list in 2021.

The route from Břestek to Břestecká skála leads along the road towards Chabaně to a junction with red- and green-marked trails. Another special feature of the village is the launch meadow for hot-air balloon flights, located directly next to Penzion BalonCentrum Břestek.

Culture

In Břestek, a building of folk architecture contains a historic wine cellar dating from the 19th century. Also in Břestek stands an architecturally notable Neo-Gothic building from 1888.

When comparing holiday apartments in Břestek, check the exact location, accommodation type and occupancy on the respective listing page. Included services, price components, and booking and cancellation conditions should also be clearly stated. Review the offers and then choose the listing whose terms match your preferences. Also pay attention to the exact rules for additional guests, any possible minimum stays, and which costs are already included in the displayed price. When offers differ, directly comparing these fields helps you clearly assess the respective conditions. The spelling of the place name and the assignment of the offer to the desired destination should also be clearly identifiable on the listing page. This keeps the checked features separate and transparent. It is also worth looking at the stated travel period, the number of available sleeping places, and the breakdown of the total price into individual components. If fees are only mentioned later, this information should also be clearly understandable. When reviewing the conditions, also check by when a change or cancellation is possible and whether different deadlines apply. These details provide a clear basis for comparison without mixing the individual offers together.
