Nature and Trails

The Stržená hráz natural monument covers 8 hectares and was designated a natural monument in 1977. A valuable tree in Starý Bozděchov is one of the area’s landscape features.

A cycling tour from Nová Včelnice leads through Nový Bozděchov and Starý Bozděchov, then through the forest past several ponds. In the surrounding area, a longer cycling tour runs via Horní Radouň, Starý Bozděchov and Bukovka to the Stržená hráz natural monument. From Bukovka, it follows cycle route No. 1215 and then either a blue-marked hiking trail or a comfortable, unmarked forest path.

History

A memorial plaque commemorating the local partisan movement is located on the former school building in Starý Bozděchov. The bell structure in Starý Bozděchov is a Šrák made of two interconnected posts.

A historic path, later turned into a road, connected the Bozděchov fortress with Jindřichův Hradec. The former Bozděchov fortress has not survived to the present day. The Radouňská Rally builds on the tradition of its own competition, which has existed since 2007.
