Radostín: Holiday Apartments and Houses

The Radostín peat bog is a transitional bog of the watershed-bog type, with characteristic plant and animal communities. The bog is home to plant communities consisting of Scots pine and its hybrids with the rare bog pine, which is typical of the area. More than 500 butterfly species have been recorded here; the plant species kyhanka sivolistá also continues to grow in the Radostín peat bog. The bog can be reached via a green-marked trail that runs through a birch avenue.

Natural Area

The Dářko National Nature Reserve contains the last natural population of bog pine in this area. It is also home to the deepest bog in the area.

Educational Trail

The Dářská rašeliniště educational trail has twelve information stations. Part of the trail runs along a wooden boardwalk, and it also includes two viewpoints.

Winter and Trails

The Radostínský okruh is an 11.2-kilometre cross-country ski trail starting and ending in Radostín. The route leads from Radostín via Padrtiny along Velké Dářko pond, through the Dářko National Nature Reserve, and from Karlov back to Radostín. It runs along forest paths, meadows and fields and is marked locally with a purple horizontal stripe.

Culture

The modern Chapel of Saint Rosalia in Radostín dates from 2006. The procession in honour of Saint Rosalia was revived in Radostín in 1990; it is held on the first Sunday in September.
