Culture and History

The former inn is also part of the historic townscape. It has a symmetrical street façade with a W-shaped floor plan and two adjoining gates. Around 1720, it was built by Václav Vejmluve, the abbot of the Cistercian monastery in Žďár nad Sázavou, based on a design by Jan Blažej Santini.

A statue of Saint John of Nepomuk, consecrated in 1755, stands between the Church of St. James and the former inn. The former inn building, the two gates, and the property were added to the state register of cultural monuments in 1963.
