Mohelno: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

In the centre of Mohelno, the listed Church of All Saints, the Baroque vicarage, the bell tower and the Neoclassical school form a historic complex of buildings.

History and town centre

The Church of All Saints is mentioned as a parish church as early as 1234. It is a two-nave, east-facing building with Gothic perimeter walls. The northern side aisle, known as the Senoradská Chapel, was added in 1512.

Culture

The Mohelno Museum was moved to the attic of the Stodola Gallery at Mohelno No. 86 on 10 June 2019. Its natural history section focuses primarily on the Mohelenská hadcová steppe nature reserve. The museum also presents local traditions and significant crafts that have died out, including stove building and painted furniture.

Nature and trails

The Mohelenská hadcová steppe is a national nature reserve. At the beginning of the nature trail stands an Iron Age burial mound, which is a reminder of earlier settlement. The Mlynářská stezka long-distance cycle route also runs through Mohelno, together with sections of cycle routes 5106 and 403.

Geographical location

The ruins of Rabštejn and the ruins of Tempelštejn are located in the vicinity of Mohelno. The surrounding area is home to Babí hora mountain and the Church of St Peter and St Paul Chapel. In the wider region are Stříbrná hora mountain, Skalný mountain, Leskoun mountain and Brno Zoo.
