Vilémovec: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Below Lipnice Castle, Vilémovec was built by Wilhelm, the son of Vitus of Landstein – and it still bears Wilhelm’s name. The state-owned Lipnice Castle features an archaeological exhibition, a Gothic chapel, extensive cellars, and views of the surrounding landscape.

Culture and History

The medieval and modern centre of Vilémovec is designated as an archaeological site; archaeological finds have been documented there or are expected based on well-founded assumptions.

In the flooded granite quarries near Lipnice Castle is the art gallery Národní památník odposlechu. It comprises the works Bretschneiderovo ucho, Zlaté oči, and Ústa pravdy, all connected by a well-marked trail.

Trails and Landscape

In the wider regional surroundings of Vilémovec, the Haškova cesta educational trail connects Světlá nad Sázavou and Lipnice over 12 kilometres. Vilémovec also has the bus/public transport stop listed as “Lipnice n.Sáz.,Vilémovec”.

For the Kolem Světlé 2026 event, Studánka Vilémovec u Lipnice is listed as a spring stop; the event includes it as one of up to 13 spring stops. There are two refreshment stations along the route.

Cycle Route No. 19 runs from Lipnice to Havlíčkův Brod through Vilémovec. Near Lipnice, it follows the blue-marked hiking route to the castle. A yellow-marked hiking trail also passes through Vilémovec, running along a paved road beyond the settlement. On the route through the forest, the blue-marked hiking trail temporarily disappears; Vilémovec is then reached, where the yellow-marked hiking trail runs.
