Dobroutov: Holiday Apartments and Houses

On the outskirts of Dobroutov, two ancient cellars have been preserved. Locally known as “lochy”, they are built into a hillside.

Location and Local History

Dobroutov lies on Road II/351, which connects Polná and Třebíč.

The wooden Romanian cross from 1945 was replaced by a durable, true-to-the-original replica made of steel tubes. In 2014, a new cross donated by the Romanian side was unveiled in Dobroutov in the presence of representatives of the Romanian Embassy.

The Chapel of Saint John the Baptist in Dobroutov belongs to the Roman Catholic Parish of Polná. It was consecrated by diocesan bishop Jan Vokál on 22 June.

On the village square in Dobroutov, by the stream opposite House No. 48, stands a stone atonement cross with a cross carved into it. According to tradition, the atonement cross commemorates two French soldiers who died there in a duel over a girl.

A statue of Saint John the Baptist stands on the road to Polná. It is the work of the sculptor Václav Viktor Morávek from Polná.

Nature and Landscape

Dobroutov is surrounded by the natural landscape of the Křižanov Highlands. The cadastral area of Dobroutov includes Ochoz, among other places; in the Polensko region, it is considered the largest forest complex.

The Zhořský stream flows through Dobroutov and joins the Šlapanka stream in Polná, a tributary of the Sázava. A 10-kilometre hiking route from Polná offers a view of Dobroutov after an ascent.

Culture and Events

A musical masquerade procession for Masopust is held regularly in Dobroutov. The recurring wine walk “Dobroutov Wine Journey” also takes place here; it has already been held for the fifth time.

A traditional fishing event is held in Dobroutov at Horní rybník behind the stadium.

The Klub vojáků v záloze regularly holds open days for the public at the Dobroutov shooting range, where visitors can shoot under the guidance of an experienced assistant.
