The Chlumětín Educational Trail connects Chlumětín with the settlement of Krejcar and leads to the Volákův kopec Nature Monument. The trail is approximately five kilometres long and has only minor changes in elevation.
Trails and Landscape
The circular hike from Chlumětín, on the border of the Žďárské vrchy area, initially follows the red-marked hiking route and, at the same time, the educational trail route towards Paseky. Chlumětín is also the starting point of an almost 22-kilometre circular hike along the edge of the Žďárské vrchy area.
In the vicinity of Chlumětín, the hiking route leads to the Filipovský pramen spring of the Chrudimka River. A granite obelisk marks it as the source of the Chrudimka; at the same time, the Filipovský pramen is the first of a total of 31 stops on the local-history route Krajem Chrudimky.
Villagescape and History
Several original wooden houses stand on the village square in Chlumětín. Rural heritage also includes house no. 32, a remnant of a formerly larger log-house farmstead.
The Chapel of the Virgin Mary in Chlumětín dates from 1881.
Nature and Everyday Life
Stará Cihelna is a nature monument on the cycle route to Chlumětín. It consists of a group of pools in a reclaimed former clay extraction area for brickmaking.
The Via Czechia itinerary lists food supplies and a bus service for Chlumětín.
Local Features
The Chlumětínský gulášfest has already been held for the fifth time; it includes competitions featuring goulash dishes.
