Cycling

Velké Březno Château is located in the immediate vicinity of the international cycle route from Prague to Dresden. The ferry between Velké Březno and Povrly carries cars and bicycles and is directly connected to the Elbe Cycle Route.

History and Culture

The Velké Březno Fortification Museum displays a light fortification object of Type 37, known as a Řopík, built in 1938 before the Second World War to defend Czechoslovakia. The museum also offers guided tours with a guide in a historical uniform and is located directly on the cycle path from Ústí nad Labem to Děčín.

Hrad Střekov Castle is located in the vicinity of Velké Březno. The Kostel Nanebevzetí Panny Marie church is also located in the vicinity. In the wider regional area are the ruins of Hrad Kysperk Castle and the historic site “Theresienstadt concentration camp and ghetto”.

Kozí vrch and Trpasličí kameny are located in the immediate vicinity of Velké Březno. Vrabinec and Varhošť are located in the vicinity of Velké Březno.

Beer and History

Generations of brewers have been brewing beer at Pivovar Velké Březno since 1753. Viktor Cibich, a stationmaster from Velké Březno, is the historical figure depicted on the labels of Březňák beer.

For technical reasons, Pivovar Velké Březno has temporarily suspended visitor tours since April 30, 2026.
