Vracov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Moravian Wine Trail runs through Vracov. As it climbs through the Na jamech wine-cellar lane, the trail beyond Vracov passes into an area between fields and vineyards. Today, 25 wine cellars can be visited in the Baráky district; one of the two small squares features a large wine press dating from 1840.

Wine and Landscape

Baráky Street is one of the oldest parts of Vracov; its origins date back to the 16th to 17th century. North of the town, above the town itself, stands a statue of Saint Urban on Zabiják Hill, surrounded by vineyards. The wooden pavilion next to the statue offers a place to rest and a beautiful view of Vracov.

In the Vracov Dúbrava Forest, a statue of Saint Hubert has stood at a crossroads near a large linden tree since 2003. It depicts a deer and a hunting dog; there is a pavilion nearby where visitors can rest.

Festivals and Local History

The Vracovské hody with věncem a kačerem takes place every year on the third weekend in October. Traditionally, around 500 people in traditional costumes take part. The Dožínky harvest festival is held regularly in Vracov at the end of August. Vracov's traditional costume originated at the end of the 17th century.

Museums and Religious Architecture

The Vracov Railway Museum displays, among other things, cardboard tickets, old documents, photographs and a locomotive model. Museum No. 1 is dedicated to life at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century, while Museum No. 2 is furnished with equipment from the mid-20th century.

The Church of St. Vavřinec is a valuable historical monument of the Early Gothic Cistercian-Burgundian type. A Renaissance tower was built on the north side of the chancel in 1565, while the Stations of the Cross are located on the south side. It was completed in 2004; the following year, a path was laid around it and plantings were added.

Garden Railway and Swimming Pool

The electrified narrow-gauge Železnice 600 garden railway in Vracov is 650 metres long. Three train sets with a total capacity of around 100 people are currently in operation. Železnice 600 transports the public and tourists on its narrow-gauge garden railway.

Koupaliště Vracov features a 50-by-20-metre main pool and a small children's pool with a mushroom fountain and slide. The facilities also include beach volleyball, table tennis and a children's playground. There are also changing rooms with lockable lockers, toilets, showers and a snack bar.
