Újezd U Tišnova: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
The history of Újezd u Tišnova dates back to 1350, when the village was first mentioned in writing. The settlement probably arose even before the founding of Porta coeli Monastery in Předklášteří in 1232.
History and culture
Romanesque elements suggest that the construction of the Church of St. Giles probably dates back to the beginning of the 13th century. Two crosses made of Nedvědice marble stand on the road to the church and in the centre of the village; they were erected in the 1880s at the expense of the residents. Újezd u Tišnova is also home to a mill with equipment dating from 1937. Újezd became the centre of the economic activities of the Vladykové z Drahan.
Nature
The protected tree Babyka u Chytálek, also called Babyka u Cytálek, stands in the cadastral area of Újezd u Tišnova. It is a single field maple. The mountains of Víckov, Sýkoř, Duforty and Babylon lie in the vicinity of Újezd u Tišnova.
Trails
On the wooded Hrádek ridge near Újezd u Tišnova are the remains of a fortified settlement made of wood and clay from the 14th century. A red-marked hiking trail leads around Hrádek from Tišnov. The remains of Hrádek can only be reached from the northwest side: a footpath leads from the road over the ridge, passing two huts.
