Hluboké Dvory: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Hluboké Dvory combines the landscape shaped by the Lubě with distinctive traces of history. Rock formations, paths, a chapel and monuments give the place a clear identity.

Nature

The cadastral area of Hluboké Dvory consists of a flat upland with deep valleys carved by the Lubě stream and its tributaries. On the left bank of the Lubě, Krkatá bába forms a group of rocks about 500 metres long, with rock towers and blocks up to 15 metres high. The best-known rock tower resembles a head on a long neck.

Krkatá bába is protected as a natural monument; the protection applies to significant rock formations with natural dwarf oak–pine communities. The rock group lies partly within the cadastral area of Hluboké Dvory and can be reached via a passable tourist trail.

Paths

Cycle route 5268 passes through Hluboké Dvory on the Žernovník – Lubě – Trmačov – Skalička route. From Hluboké Dvory, a blue-marked trail also leads just under one kilometre south to the ruins of Trmačov.

Trmačov is also connected by a marked trail: the blue-marked hiking trail from Trmačov leads to a large partisan monument dating from 1946. The monument commemorates the resistance activities of General Luža’s 3rd Assault Company in the Tišnov region from 1944 to 1945.

History

Trmačov Fortress was built less than one kilometre south of the present-day village of Hluboké Dvory. It is explicitly documented for the years 1350 to 1418; by 1466, it was already mentioned as abandoned. The ruins of Trmačov are a state-protected cultural monument.

Culture

The Chapel of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary dates from 1838 and contains statues of the Virgin Mary and Saint John of Nepomuk. Next to the chapel stands a marble cross on a sandstone base dating from 1906.
