Trnové Pole: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Trnové Pole is located in the Dyjsko-svratecký úval between the Trnovopolská svodnice and Suchý potok watercourses. The landscape is gently rolling and characterised by extensive fields. Road II/415 runs through the village, connecting route I/53 with Hrušovany nad Jevišovkou here.

Landscape and Trails

There are hiking trails around Trnové Pole that are suitable for trips into nature, as well as cycling paths. The “Za půvaby úvalu” cycle route also passes through Trnové Pole on its way to Jiřice u Miroslavi.

Culture and History

Trnové Pole was originally known as Dornfeld and later as Drnopole. The first written record of the village dates from 1785.

The former village stood several hundred metres to the east, in the direction of Vlasatice. During the Napoleonic campaign, it was struck by a plague epidemic that wiped out almost the entire original German population. The survivors founded present-day Trnové Pole at its current location.

Historic Features on the Outskirts

A wayside shrine has been preserved on the outskirts of Trnové Pole. It is a solid prismatic structure with shallow niches on all sides and stands on the road to Jiřice. The shrine is an important historic monument of the municipality of Trnové Pole. A cross has also been preserved on the outskirts.

Near the main crossroads of Trnové Pole stood the former bell tower with a small chapel. A niche chapel is also one of the local attractions.
