Moravský Krumlov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Moravský Krumlov leads from a significant historical site to a protected natural area: the château stands on the site of an early Gothic castle, documented as being owned by the Lords of Obřany as early as 1289. Between 1557 and 1562, it was converted into an extensive Renaissance château; the main construction work was carried out according to the design of the Italian architect Leonardo Gara da Bissono.

Culture and History

At the end of the château park lies the old Jewish cemetery. It bears witness to the rich history of the Jewish community in Moravský Krumlov. The Chapel of St Florian is open to the public on Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons from May to September.

The town museum in Moravský Krumlov operates a reading room for the general public and specialists and maintains a reference library for archaeology. Its programme includes museum-style exhibitions as well as lectures and educational activities for schools and the public.

Nature

The Krumlovsko-Rokytenské slepence National Nature Reserve extends across the territory of the town of Moravský Krumlov. Since 2005, this nature reserve has been part of the Natura 2000 network.

Leisure and Information

The Koupaliště Moravský Krumlov swimming pool complex includes a swimming pool, a children’s pool with a water castle, a round whirlpool pool, and sunbathing and relaxation areas. The swimming pool measures 25 × 10.5 m and is 1.1–1.6 m deep.

The Moravský Krumlov Information Centre offers tourist information materials and maps and provides information about local transport connections.

Cycle Route

Cycle Route No. 5006 connects Znojmo with Moravský Krumlov and Jevišovice. It is suitable for all types of bicycles.
