Pravice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Pravice combines signposted cycle paths with traditional festivals and distinctive reminders of its local history. The Znojemská vinařská cyklostezka and the signposted Mezi poli a vinohrady cycling route pass through the village. The latter runs mainly along lightly trafficked roads and farm tracks beside the Dyje and Jevišovka rivers through the undulating agricultural landscape between the westernmost municipalities of Hrušovansko.

Cycle Paths and Festivals

Pálení čarodějnic takes place annually in Pravice and is a social event featuring a cultural programme, music and convivial gatherings. As part of the event, local firefighters build a bonfire averaging 10 metres in height. Traditional events also include Easter rattling and carolling. The Pravické krojované hody are among Pravice’s folk traditions.

Culture and History

The historically valuable complex of the manor farm, known as Zámeček, is a cultural monument in Pravice, but it has also been unused and neglected for a long time; it requires comprehensive restoration.

On the village square in Pravice, the statue of St Donát stands on a lawn at the north-eastern corner of the granary. The granary belonged to the former manor farm complex and the former medieval fortress. The rear of the statue’s pedestal bears the date 1753.

The Chapel of the Most Holy Trinity in Pravice replaced a former Gothic church in 1833; the church was mentioned in 1222 and still existed in the 18th century. The chapel was built at the expense of the Viennese merchant P. Fuhrlinger and his wife, née Hieszová from Pravice.

Nature and Transport Links

A 300-hectare fallow deer enclosure is located in the cadastral area of Pravice. Bus route 822 provides direct connections from Pravice to the towns of Hrušovany nad Jevišovkou and Znojmo.
