Stálky: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Stálky stretches along both sides of a road: the gable-fronted houses face the road and have front gardens; the village green is a broad meadow.

Culture and history

The history of the village includes the wayside shrines behind Stálky, which date from 1755, as well as an old statue of Saint John of Nepomuk standing opposite the church. The statue was repaired and reconsecrated in 2017. In the past, the inhabitants of Stálky produced wood tar and charcoal and exported both.

Cycling connections

The cycling circuit from Vranov to Frejštejn and then to Šafov passes through Stálky, where the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary stands. The church was originally built in the late Gothic style and was converted to the Baroque style in 1631. On this cycling circuit, 24.60% of the route consists of field and forest paths and 75.39% of roads.

The Znojmo region section of EuroVelo 13 runs from Uherčice via Stálky to Šafov. The Znojmo region and Austrian border area section of EuroVelo 13 is 130 km long and has been awarded three stars.

The Schloßberg ruins are located in the immediate vicinity of Stálky. The mountains Kreuzberg, Goggitschberg, Kohlberg and Síbeňák are located around Stálky. In the wider regional surroundings of Stálky are Karlslust Castle, the Papstwarte viewpoint and Wildberg Castle.
