Kratochvilka: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The T. G. Masaryk monument is one of Kratochvilka’s most significant tourist attractions. The history of the place also includes mining and a traditional inn.

History

The nearby coal mines of Zbýšov contributed to the development of Kratochvilka. The Síčka mine was located in the cadastral area of the municipality of Kratochvilka. The settlement later took its name from the Kratochvilka inn, which was already mentioned in 1626.

Attractions

There are several different destinations in the surroundings of Kratochvilka: Tempelštejn is a ruin, Brno Zoo is a zoo, and Kaple sv. Petra a Pavla is a church. Rabštejn is also a ruin and is located in the wider regional surroundings of Kratochvilka.

Landscape

The wider regional surroundings include Leskoun, a mountain. The immediate surroundings of Kratochvilka also include Trojice, Kopaniny [Rosice] and Bučina [Tetčice], each a hill. Rybičková skála is a significant paleontological site with fossils from the Upper Paleozoic (Permian), particularly fish fossils.
