Hvězdlice: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The fortress on Kalvárie Hill, formerly called Holá Manda, was built approximately in the second half of the 13th century under the Lords of Deblín. In 1411, it was mentioned as ruined or abandoned.

Archaeology

The medieval and early modern core of Nové Hvězdlice is a Category UAN II archaeological area on the right bank of the Hvězdlička stream. Archaeological finds have been documented in this archaeological area or are expected based on well-founded assumptions.

Culture and History

The Church of St. James the Elder and St. Matthew in Nové Hvězdlice is a late Baroque church built between 1770 and 1773 according to a design by the Moravian architect and builder František Antonín Grimm.

A war memorial to the victims of the First World War from 1922 stands in the village square. It is made of white marble and is crowned by a bronze bust of Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk.

At the edge of the „Oulehle“ forest in the Hvězdlice municipality stands a boundary stone engraved with a chalice, the year 1598, and the inscription „Sylvestr Stigler parochus“. It documents a dispute between the parish and the Augustinian Monastery of St. Thomas in Brno over the parish forest.
