Dobelice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Dobelice combines a short forest education trail with remarkable traces of local history and special natural habitats. The Stezka Lesním světem leads through the forest below Dobelice and complements the historic sites around Ledvice and the village’s sacred architecture.

Nature

The Stezka Lesním světem in Dobelice is a short forest education trail, approximately 0.5 km long, below Dobelice. It includes a wetland and a larger picnic area.

Na Kocourkách consists of three small elevations in the fields and is known for fossil finds. These include shark teeth, mollusc shells, as well as fish vertebrae and teeth. The Na Kocourkách protected area safeguards semi-natural dry grasslands and populations of large-flowered pasque flowers and sand irises. It is also home to thermophilous plant communities with numerous rare and endangered plant and animal species.

Culture and History

The Zvonička na návsi stands in the village square; it was built in 1881 and reconstructed in 2010. The reconstruction was part of the celebrations marking the 750th anniversary of the founding of Dobelice.

About half a kilometre southwest of Dobelice lies the site of the former fortress and village of Ledvice. At the Ledvice castle site, a prominent ditch separates the central part of the complex from the slightly elevated outer bailey area. At the same time, the castle site is a botanically interesting locality where several plant species occur in early spring, including Czech star-of-Bethlehem, lesser star-of-Bethlehem, marsh yellowcress and pasque flowers.

The Kaplička na křižovatce is a valuable example of vernacular sacred architecture.
