Two named cycling routes pass through Džbánice: the Mikroregion Moravia cycle path and the Živé pomezí Krumlovsko–Jevišovicko cycling route. The Mikroregion Moravia cycle path is suitable for mountain bikes or trekking bikes; the Živé pomezí Krumlovsko–Jevišovicko cycling route is 84 km long and is not a circular route.
Culture
The Chapel of St Gotthard stands in the village square of Džbánice. It was built in 1846 and has a vaulted interior with a dome. Small crosses stand along the roads in Džbánice.
History
Džbánice was first mentioned in writing in 1253 and suffered severe damage during the Thirty Years' War. Before 1361, Budislav of Našiměřice owned vineyards in Džbánice. Probable remains of the Džbánice fortress lie within the built-up area of today's farmyard.
Archaeology
In the vicinity of Džbánice, archaeologists uncovered a Neolithic settlement with a mass grave containing crouched burials. The vicinity of Džbánice was also home to a Slavic hillfort dating from the period of Great Moravia.
