Staré Město Pod Landštejnem: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Landštejn Castle is located in the vicinity of Staré Město pod Landštejnem and is one of the largest and best-preserved accessible castle ruins in the country. Around this historic landmark, local history, a signposted hiking trail, and a landscape with several mountains and elevations come together.

Culture and History

In the town center stands the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary with its bell tower. It is a three-nave church, originally early Gothic, with valuable architectural and historical features. The adjoining bell tower was built in the 16th century during the transition from the Gothic to the Renaissance period.

Dobrohoř Chateau is also part of the town’s history: after 1847, the administration of the Landštejn estate was housed in the newly built chateau. Around 1600, there was also a Jewish settlement in Staré Město pod Landštejnem.

The Jewish cemetery near Staré Město pod Landštejnem contains approximately 140 gravestones. The cemetery is located about 400 meters from the intersection in the direction of the Světlov swimming pool. In the wider regional surroundings of Staré Město pod Landštejnem, there are also the Geyersteine monument, the Böhmstein wayside shrine, and the Kerblerkreuz wayside shrine.

Landscape and Trails

One stage of the Stezka Českou Kanadou trail leads via Pomezí below Landštejn Castle to Staré Město pod Landštejnem, where it follows a red-marked hiking trail.

Mount Uhliště is located in the vicinity of Staré Město pod Landštejnem. The surrounding area also includes the mountains of Větrov, Starohuťský vrch, and Pyramida.
