Vydří: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

North of Vydří lies Horní rybník, an ecologically significant landscape feature and local biocentre. It includes the pond together with its bank and accompanying vegetation; along its entire shoreline, Horní rybník is bordered by a distinctive, relatively broad littoral zone. The body of water is an important refuge for amphibians, waterbirds and small birds, as well as other organisms in the agricultural landscape.

Nature

The local biocentre “Pod Šimáčkovým vrchem” contains a mosaic of small wooded areas, forest stands, managed and unmanaged grassland and herbaceous vegetation, and wetland communities. Another local biocentre, “Na soutoku”, is located at the confluence of the Vydřího potok stream and an unnamed right-bank tributary from Žabov Pond.

History

Vydří was founded in 1365 as part of the Stráž estate.
