Pleše: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The centre of Pleše preserves an unusual, cohesive historic townscape: a unique, ring-shaped village green is defined by a group of original farmhouses. This preserved ensemble is valued and gives the village its distinctive character.

Culture

The Chapel of St John and Paul is part of Pleše's history. An organ was acquired for it in 1826. The chapel also houses a historic bell with an Old Czech inscription from 1560.

In the wider regional surroundings of Pleše lies the Church of Svatý Ondřej. The remains of a former military observation post are also still visible on Chlum.

Landscape

Pleše lies on the south-eastern slope of the 514-metre-high Chlum hill. Its elevated location offers views over the surrounding lowland landscape of the Jindřichův Hradec area. The village is also situated on the edge of the Třeboňsko Protected Landscape Area.

The mountains of Hůrka, Cihadlo and Podstupský vrch are located in the surroundings of Pleše. The Chlum hill is also nearby.

Experiences

The Pleše model aircraft flying site is located near Kardašova Řečice. The public model aircraft event “Kapr v luftě” was held there for the 18th time. Visitors could see a wide range of model aircraft from various categories and of different sizes; the event also included a competition with prizes in kind.

A more challenging cycle route from Třeboň to the Renaissance chateau of Červená Lhota passes through Pleše.
