Jarošov nad Nežárkou is where the Nežárka forms at the confluence of the Žirovnička and Kamenička streams. The cadastral area also includes Němcův kopec: at 610 metres, it is the highest point in the area and offers a view.
Nature and Water
The natural area includes the Lipina natural monument on the slope of the Žirovnička floodplain. It protects an original lime-oak forest typical of the warmer areas of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands; Lipina has been protected since 1974. The local watercourses and their floodplains are also among the most important areas of the administrative territory of Jarošov nad Nežárkou in terms of nature conservation.
Cycling Routes and Activities
Several existing routes pass through the village or start here. The Krajem tří železnic route runs between Jindřichův Hradec and Lovětín via Jarošov nad Nežárkou. The Nežárka cycling route starts in Jarošov at the confluence of the Kamenice and Žirovnice rivers; this starting point is conveniently accessible by train. The existing Do rodiště Tomáše Štítného route also passes through Zdešov.
The Jarošovská šlapka took place in 2026 as the 22nd edition of the popular cycling event. This edition offered cycling routes of varying lengths and difficulty, as well as a children's route. The area around Jarošov nad Nežárkou also offers opportunities for walks.
The local rivers can be used for water tourism when water levels are suitable. Swimming is possible in a nearby sand quarry; fishing is possible there and on all three rivers with a valid fishing licence.
