Petříkov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Petříkov lies among forests and ponds; the Stropnice River flows through the village. In the village district of Jiříkovo Údolí, the Třeboňsko Protected Landscape Area extends. The Červené blato Nature Reserve with an educational trail is also located there.

Nature

Červené blato can only be accessed via its educational trail, which was established in 1983. The nature reserve is home to natural forest communities consisting mainly of bog pine and peatland pine forests. These are joined by communities of open raised bogs as well as populations of rare and endangered plant species, including bog pine (Pinus rotundata) and marsh Labrador tea (Ledum palustre).

Culture and History

The publicly accessible old glassworks stands in Jiříkovo Údolí. In the 1920s and 1930s, it was a popular destination for school trips and adult tourists from all over Bohemia and abroad.

Těšínov is a settlement belonging to the municipality of Petříkov, with old farmsteads and cottages. These are located predominantly on one side of a road that formerly ran from Třeboň to Nové Hrady and was important at the time. Rural farmstead No. 22 in Těšínov, Petříkov, is registered as a protected cultural monument.

Petříkov is also home to the Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk. Mass is held there every Thursday at 6 p.m.

Geographical Location

Trosky is a named mountain in the vicinity of Petříkov. The surrounding area also includes Borovanský vrch [Borovany-Dvorec u Třebče], Schindelberg and Vysoká, each of them named mountains.

The wider regional surroundings of Petříkov include Lunkowitzkreuz, a named wayside shrine; Geyersteine, a named monument; and Rotes Kreuz and Jägerkreuz, each a named wayside shrine. The “Cestou dobrých vod na Borovansku” cycle route passes through Petříkov. The village also has a České dráhy railway stop.
